School of Burlesque

We run a number of different workshops and classes to suit different levels of experience or inclination.

Drop in and be fabulous and give Burlesque a go every Monday at 8pm to 9pm at the Academy Mews Studios Camden. 10 pounds a class

Meet Madame Krumpet and go through the burlesque moves. From shimmies to bumps n grinds . Each lesson is fun and is on a pay as you go basis.

‘La krumpette’

…is a 4 week beginners burlesque course. Starting on the Monday 9th September 7pm-8pm for 4 weeks @ Academy Mews Dance Studios, 15 Pratt Street, Camden, NW1 0AD.

Please bring heels  and satin gloves’ We will cover bumps, grinds, shimmies, expression, peels  and reveals. You will learn a  routine which incorporates all of the above.

We will on the week 4 we will show you how to tassel twirl, this is a fun class and you will need nipple tassels for this which you can buy online or in class. note opera gloves will also be available to buy at a price of £7 and tassels at £5



Ready to take burlesque further? Create your own burlesque routine with professional burlesque performer Madame Krumpet who will guide you through the first steps of building your own routine.Note- Once you have completed the course we have rehearsals for 6 weeks prior to the showcase. Further details available once Glamourpuss is completed.

Please bring the music you want to perform to on your phone or we can select a track which you like. The course is held at Academy Mews Dance Studios, 15 Pratt Street, Camden, NW1 0AD

Week 1 – we will start individual routines to your music from this we will find out the best prop ie/ feather boa , fan , hat etc to use and your character whether it be a sultry femme fatale or  cute vintage retro chick.

Week 2 – Bring in prop – start building on the routine and work  on your  character with emphasis on  expressions ie/ where the music is dramatic, fast or slow.

Week 3 – Start thinking about costume pieces and further developing the peel, and reveal.

Week 4 – Finishing touches to routines and mini showcase.
